FAQ 2

What is the right age for someone to complete a MemoryCatcher?
By no means is there a set age for someone to complete a MemoryCatcher. We have had people of all ages (some in their 20’s and others in their 90’s) complete projects. The true reason for completing a MemoryCatcher is to capture the important moments in someone’s life before they are lost or forgotten, and that can be accomplished at any age.

FAQ 3

On average, how long does it take to complete a MemoryCatcher?
The StoryCatcher was designed to be completed in a weekend! The idea behind this kit is that anyone can find a special weekend’s worth of time to spend with a loved one, especially if it means saving their life story forever! The PhotoCatcher is more time intensive project and is structured to take close to 30 hours to complete. Although the PhotoCatcher may sound like a lot of work, it’s our unique program guide that makes the whole process very manageable. We have divided up the larger activities into small steps, creating a program that anyone will be able to follow with ease.

FAQ 4

Should I only pick one MemoryCatcher for my parent, or should I order both the StoryCatcher and the PhotoCatcher at the same time?
Each MemoryCatcher was created to capture a unique part of your parent’s life history. So although there may be a little overlap between the two projects, you’ll find that each MemoryCatcher really will capture distinct aspects of your parent’s history. If your parent has the time to complete both projects, it’s highly recommended to order both MemoryCatchers at the same time.

FAQ 5

What if I want to capture both of my parents’ life histories?
Our programs include the necessary supplies for just one person’s project, so be sure to order a separate MemoryCatcher for each loved one.

FAQ 6

My parents can’t write very well – are there other options for completing the StoryCatcher?
The PhotoCatcher does involve a lot of writing, so it may not be the best project for someone who has difficulty writing. With that said, the entire StoryCatcher project can be completed by using the included voice recorder! Instead of writing out the stories, your parent will simply turn on a voice recorder during the interviews and voila an instant record of your loved one’s best stories can still be captured!
